D2ers at USA nationals

Looks like 5k champ Michael Crouch (Queens, N.C.) will lead the D2 charge at the USA Track and Field Championships in Bluegene, Ore., next week.
Crouch and indoor mile champ Aaron Braun (Adams State) and Brian Medigovich (Adams State) also qualified for the 5,000. There's no prelims this year, either, as USAT&F decided on a "finals-only" 5k. Let's hope Crouch, Braun and Medigovich don't get shunted to the "slow heat" (there's no way they can run all those guys in one race).
The trio may match up against ex-Chico Stater Scott Bauhs, who now represents adidas. The 5k prelim is at 8:15 PDT June 26.
Buahs has also qualified for the 1500 and 10,000, but undoubtedly won't run all three. In the metric mile, he'll be joined ex-Adams Stater Aucencio Martinez.
D2ers appearing to just miss qualifying spots include:
  • 800 champ Anthony Luna (Metro State, Colo.)
  • Chris Clark of California (Pa.) in the 10,000
