D2ers get last chance to run fast

While I suspect the likes of Daniel Kirwa or Jessica Pixler might prove me wrong in the coming weeks, D2's last chance for really fast times comes this weekend at the Peyton Jordan meet at Stanford. Adams State, Chico State and Western State have athletes entered.
Adams State and Chico State will unleash six milers, including Andrew Graham (Adams), Drew Soucy (Adams), Keegan Calmes (Adams) and Michael Wickman (Chico). Reuben Mwei (Adams) gets a chance to really rock in the steeple (as he has no 5,000 on his mind); Chico standout Beau Rogers will run, too. Western State's steeple hope Loren Ahonen runs the 5,000. Interestingly, of the 12 D2 distance entries, only two actually race against each other.
On the women's side, Adams has a pair of talented steeplechasers (Alician Nelson and Cassie Mitchell) and a pair of 5k-ers.
So after this weekend, consider the performance lists (nearly) finalized.
