New talent coming to D2?

It will be a few years, but among the 15 colleges and universities that applied for D2 membership, there's some distance running firepower among these schools -- especially at Malone.

• Malone is defending NAIA cross country champ and is the reigning steeple champ (and 8:39 perfomer) and went 2-3-5 in the 5,000 at NAIA outdoors.
  
• McKendree had the 5,000 champ at NAIA outdoors.
  
• Simon Fraser (of Canada, eh) has had a great distance program in the past, although appear to be a little down right now.
